Jefferson

The Jefferson will have 2 routes serving for the area. With that in mind, the community will be given the designation of 56. This will have a direct, and simple route to serve the community. By continuing to offer services to Jefferson, I feel that ACT will do good for the community, especially those without automobiles. The routes are as follows:

  • 56: Elizabeth
  • 561S: Large

56: Elizabeth

The 56: Elizabeth will be a new route to consolidate and reduce the number of routes that ACT will need. The 56: Elizabeth will connect Elizabeth with Large Park & Ride in Jefferson. Elizabeth seems to be mostly residential with just a Dollar General for any localized shopping. This will not be enough, so it would be helpful to eventually have better service. Thankfully, the 542E: Mon Valley connects Elizabeth with the rest of Mon Valley offering more options for grocery shopping, and other activities.

561S: Large

The 561S: Large will connect the Large Park & Ride with South Hills Junction via ACT’s South Corridor (current South Busway). Since one might have recognized this route as a secondary route, you would probably have guessed that it would terminate at South Hills Junction. The 561S: Large will operate just like Y1: Large Flyer with the exception of termination at South Hills Junction, and no rider restrictions while on the South Corridor. For those that need to go to Downtown will be able to board one of the LRT routes.
