Mt Lebanon will be given the designation of 54. Mt. Lebanon does have an LRT station, but this station does serve through Mt. Lebanon. With that said, there will be 2 routes that is served in Mt. Lebanon. These two routes will be able to add to the Mt. Lebanon station that is served through Beechview. The routes are as follows:
- 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland
- W54: Mt. Lebanon – Greentree
54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland
The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will a slightly complicated route, but one defined to get to Oakland as quickly as possible. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will start at Scott Road, and W. Liberty Avenue. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will turn on W. Liberty Avenue, and use that road to go through the Liberty Tunnel. During the time that 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland is in the tunnel, any internet or cellular service may go offline. Once the 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland exits Liberty Tunnel, it will connect with Liberty Bridge to the Blvd of the Allies. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will use the Blvd of the Allies to connect with Forbes Avenue in Oakland. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will remain on Forbes Avenue until reaching Carnegie Mellon University to where it will terminate and loop.
On the outbound trip, the 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will use Forbes to turn on S. Bellefield Avenue since Forbes is only 1 way here. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will then turn on Fifth Avenue to use Fifth Avenue to reconnect with the Blvd of the Allies. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will use the Blvd of the Allies to get to Liberty Bridge and connect with Liberty Tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will connect with W. Liberty Avenue, and travel until reaching Scott Road. The 54E: Mt Lebanon – Oakland will then terminate and loop.
W54: Mt. Lebanon – Greentree
The W54: Mt. Lebanon – Greentree will operate just as the 38G: Greentree will. Since this route serves much in the same way, there is not much more to say about this route. Since this is a primary route, one could take it to go Downtown, however if they are close the Mt Lebanon station, that might make more sense. As with all Western routes, the W54: Mt. Lebanon – Greentree will have to follow a set pattern that is not the current Downtown routing.
